ENTJ

The pack-leading boss

alpha doggo-getterreliable boss

Dog is a born leader of the pack! Once there's a goal, Dog pushes through to the end and naturally takes charge of the other dogs. Dog is the boss your whole family counts on.

Personality traits

The ENTJ dog combines Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Thinking (T) and Judging (J) into a born commander. In a new situation it does not hesitate: it decides where things are headed and walks out in front. Goals outrank feelings, so anything it starts has to be finished, and at home it keeps a favorite spot with a view of everyone, much like a command post. It approaches other dogs head-on and tends to set the rules of the game.

Walks & play

On a walk, the ENTJ dog is the one choosing the route. At a fork it leans on the leash toward the way it wants, and once it likes a path it picks up speed and heads straight on. Sniffing breaks are short because arriving matters more, and at the park it makes a quick lap of the whole area first, as if on inspection. In fetch or tug it wants to win, and when other dogs gather it slides naturally into the role of play leader.

Living together

This dog settles when it has a job, so teach cues like sit and wait as step-by-step tasks and it will follow eagerly. Pointless repetition bores it, so keep sessions short with a clear goal. Meet leash pulling with a consistent stop-and-wait instead of being dragged along. Mixed rules among family members confuse it, so agree on one set, and leave a puzzle toy for the hours you are out so it can spend its energy.

Best buddies

The ISFJ dog quietly keeps pace beside a front-runner, so walking speeds match. The tender INFP dog tends to find the ENTJ’s lead reassuring, and the ENFJ dog, also Extraverted and Judging, looks after a group in a similar way, so the two click. Meeting another commander type, though, can spark a standoff over a single toy, so introduce them at a distance first.
