INTJ

The strategist with a goal

Dog is a goal-driven strategist! Calmly finding a way to whatever it wants, and seeing things through once its mind is set. Dog walks its own path with sharp resolve.

Personality traits

The INTJ dog is a quiet strategist combining Introversion (I), Intuition (N), Thinking (T) and Judging (J). A goal it has set is pursued silently and stubbornly, and it makes almost no wasted motion. Its emotions are restrained, yet it reads exactly what you want. It will not budge for something it does not want to do, however much you coax, but once it finds a reason it accepts, it carries it out more thoroughly than anyone.

Walks & play

Its walks look as if it had already drawn the route in its head, a stride with a destination. It skips pointless stops, and lingers long at spots it judges worthwhile to analyze the scent. It prefers time spent moving efficiently alone to mingling with other dogs. In play, rather than mere excitement it shows high focus in puzzles, treat hunts and training-style games with a clear goal, then rests quietly, satisfied, once it has achieved it.

Living together

It does not cooperate with commands that have no reason or rules that shift on a whim, so design training where the purpose is visible. Give it tasks with clear goals and visible progress in stages and it completes them quickly. It truly needs a quiet space and time to think alone, and calling it to play against its will only makes it keep its distance. In a new environment, giving it time to look around slowly and grasp the layout first makes it far calmer.

Best buddies

The idea-rich ENTP dog adds new ways to play to the INTJ’s plans, a stimulating partner. The INTP dog, also thoughtful, respects its focus, so they sit comfortably in one space, each absorbed, and the kind ENFJ dog attentively looks after the feelings the INTJ cannot express. A friend who stirs up spontaneous commotion tires the INTJ quickly, and it tends to keep away.
